Practicing mindfulness can have a wide range of benefits for physical and emotional wellbeing.

Mindfulness can be beneficial for almost everyone but can be particularly useful for:

Mindfulness is becoming increasingly popular and you can barely open a newspaper without finding an article about its benefits. But what actually is mindfulness? The longer we practice the more our understandings and definitions change and develop. Mindfulness is not an idea or a concept. It is a way of being, or a way of life.

What We Offer

Courses & workshops

We run several courses and workshops in mindfulness and positive psychology throughout the year. These courses introduce the principles of mindfulness and provide tools for managing the stresses of everyday life with more awareness and more resilience.

Courses cost £220 or £180 for concessions and include three guided meditation CDs and a handbook. For details of our next course please check out our events page or sign up to our newsletter.

Drop in meditation classes:

Monday afternoon mindful space
2:30pm-4pm – Broadacre House – donation based
A meditation and discussion group aimed at people experiencing mental health difficulties. Please contact us before attending this class.
Tuesday evening meditation
6pm-7pm – venue Broadacre House- £3.50 (£2 concessions)
A mindfulness  and positive psychology meditation and discussion class open to absolute beginners.

Tuesday Community Mindfulness Drop In

7-8pm – venue Throckley Community Centre, Back of Victoria Tce., NE15 9EL – Donation based

A weekly group exploring mindfulness practice through meditation & discussion.

Wednesday lunchtime body scan
1:15pm – 2pm – Broadacre House – £3.50 (£2 concessions)

Wednesday afternoon mindful space
2:30pm-4pm – Broadacre House – donation based
A meditation and discussion group aimed at people experiencing mental health difficulties. Please contact us before attending this class.

Friday lunchtime body scan meditation

Sunday mindfulness drop-in
4:30pm-5:30pm – Jesmond library – £3.50 (£2 concessions)
Includes guided meditation, walking meditation, discussion, open to absolute beginners.

Clinical Supervision

Rachel Jones-Wild is a qualified clinical supervisor, having gained her certificate in supervision from the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy in Jesmond, Newcastle. Mindful Therapies can offer clinical supervision for therapists and mindfulness practitioners.

Mindful Coaching With Mark Sidney

Mark is a qualified Coach with over 25 years management experience in the health and social care sector. Mark gained his Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Performance Coaching from Northumbria University in 2011.

Mark specialises in supporting staff who are new to management in managing the transition from a client facing to a leadership role Individual coaching costs £40 for a one hour session.

Drop-in Sessions

We run a number of drop-in classes throughout the region, many of which are free to attend, although we ask participants to make a donation if they can. Full details of classes can be found on our calendar. If you are working with a client who you feel would benefit from coming along to a class then you are more than welcome to come along and accompany them if this helps, or you could get in touch with us to discuss your client’s needs.

Low Cost Mindful Counselling

In October 2015 Mindful Therapies launches its low cost mindful counselling service, providing affordable counselling for as little as £5 per session.  If you are working with a client who you feel would benefit from this service then please get in touch to discuss this with us.
